Hi! I am a writer and editor based in New York.

I currently cover health for the Albany Times Union. My past beats have included education and state politics.

Previously, I was managing editor at the New York City-based digital news startup Bklyner, where I directed editorial content across six hyperlocal news sites, a food newsletter and a parenting resource site.

I have also written for the New York Daily News, DNAinfo and Gotham Gazette.

My recent series on oral health disparities drew on my college experiences working as a dental assistant — both at high-volume offices serving mostly low-income patients and upscale cosmetic practices touting celebrity clients — where I observed those inequities firsthand.

I earned awards for my reporting on a Brooklyn police chief’s violent history and a series tracking the questionable appointment — and eventual downfall — of a State University of New York chancellor.

My stories have been cited in editorials in the New York Daily News, the New York Post and the Guardian.

I have appeared on BRIC TV, Spectrum’s Capital Tonight, News 10, PBS and The Brian Lehrer Show to talk about my work.

Occasionally, I do research and copywrite for larger projects, such as the histories of a major New York hospital system and a 200-year-old New England bank.
